What Is EnLifement?
The Ultimate In Awakening
EnLifement is an inclusive process that transcends past systems, structures, and concepts as well as religious and spiritual phenomena, including enlightenment.
EnLifement is the ultimate in awakening, and it has no ceiling or limitation. It is an all-inclusive, moment-by-moment awakening to the highest possibilities of which a human being is capable in the moment. It is totally unrestricted, without boundary.
As you embrace this and awaken to this awareness, you are entering a path of discovering your potential, your uniqueness, your talents, and your abilities that express Life.
"The next step for human
existence is connection.
It is the way to the infinite."
The New Consciousness
The actualization of a higher possibility
Until now, in our own personal history and in the history of humanity, we have experienced our corporeal existence, our human lives, as painful in one way or another.
Through striving for spiritual realization, through meditation, body work, religious practices, or with the help of psychology, we have tried to overcome the suffering.
Through using many methods we have expanded our consciousness and cleared our minds. We have practiced being present, and brought consciousness and awareness to our bodies. We have gained secret or esoteric knowledge. We learned to control our thoughts, and tried to make our desires become reality through right thinking.
"Everything is changing constantly.
Why can’t you?"
Many of us have even discovered a sense of deep peace and liberation through identification with formless consciousness, seeing that as the true Self.
Yet deep within, we can sense a voice, a longing that knows there is still something missing, something that remains unfulfilled.
What if there is indeed something awaiting us that is far greater than what we have experienced or thought possible?
What if our achievements, as well as our failures, have served as stepping stones, have formed a springboard that brings us to a new level of existence with entirely new possibilities?
"The only way to make a difference
is to be different yourself."
Realizing The Body Is The Self
Embodying the New Consciousness means living as who we really are, living as the True Self. The New Consciousness reveals the body is the Self.
In the New Consciousness, we come to realize that the Self is right where we are, very concrete, very tangible, but at the same time able to live in a transcendent state of Being, vitally connected with everything and everyone around us, connected with the whole of the universe, and thus always ready to access higher possibilities.
"If you know who you really are,
then you are already transforming the world."
The Way Of EnLifement
Living the No-Way
"You have had something all your life.
Now you are ready for nothing."
How do we bring enLifement into our lives? Most of us are used to having a practice,
a specific way of being that we follow in order to achieve something.
EnLifement is a no-way, since it transcends all systems, structures and disciplines. Ishvara continually emphasizes, There is no way you have to be.
There is no way anything has to be.
Ishvara is not a guru; he doesn’t tell us what to do. If anything, he is a living example of a new way of being. He teaches by his life, by his presence, and simply by being himself. He shows that through letting go of all how to’s, should’s, and should not’s, we find ourselves free to discover whatever works for us.
A way to explain how the liberating, transformative power of enLifement works is that something very deep within the body resonates with what Ishvara is and expresses.
It is the higher possibility of Life that has been dormant in each cell of the body.
The cells know. Ishvara says, “I have come for the cells, not for the intellect.” Once the cells start to feel the deeper truth, transformation begins to occur.
We may feel inspired, excited, on fire, or even ecstatic. While remaining in touch with the sense of resonance within our core, we are becoming empowered to fully and totally embrace our lives as they are. In doing so we find ourselves in a constant, never-ending state of transformation and expansion, always discovering more of who we are.
The way of enLifement is the way of Life itself, expressing unlimited possibilities, moment to moment.
"Trust in yourself and allow life to unfold."
"The Consciousness is The Body."
The body is a unique, ever-evolving focal point for our experience of human life. To know the body is to know the natural self in its being and its willingness to experience Life as it is. We have the potential
to realize our connection to the universe through this source that
we are, as bodies that are unique and connected. The body is much more than can be perceived through thought, and it is affected
by such influences as how we think about Life and what we
believe is true.
The body will do what it needs to do, and one can complement that by allowing and knowing that the highest good is taking place. The body and its experiential nature is our precious being, a jewel whose time has come to evolve and transcend in perpetuity. With the body, we have everything we need.
"The next step in humanity's spiritual process is to bring the body into its rightful place in creation."
"Experience Your Unlimitedness."
The Space is an omnipresent, accelerated energy field in which you experience directly the clarity of Life in its evolving and limitless possibilities. We experience the Space according to the unique beings we are, so the Space is both an individual and a collective experience. It can be understood in the body as a heightened sense of feeling, knowing, and physical sensation. Borders seem to disappear and one can feel the truth of existence. In the Space, questions often seem to answer themselves and problems do not look like problems anymore. The Space is accessible through openness and most easily experienced in the presence of Ishvara. When you are aware of the Space, you become a part of the community of people who are helping to bring humanity to an accelerated and transforming level of awareness. When you experience the Space, you experience unlimitedness.
"The Space is the point where The Consciousness
meets itself and participates in discovering itself."
"Synergy is life. Synergy is The Consciousness.”
Synergy is the process in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The creative intelligence of Life is a synergy. It is a wholeness in which every part plays an important role.
The synergy that we are is an expression of our connection, and thus it is dynamic and enlivening. When we experience synergy, there may be the feeling of deep reverence and meaning, without words, in our connection with others and Life, a connection with the greater Self that we are.
With synergy, there is a feeling of significance. Everything participates in the synergy, and while its meaning cannot be framed adequately in words, it feels sacred and timeless.
"Through allowing, we come to know our true identity as a unique expression of The Consciousness."
Allowing is the active awareness in which we engage Life without resistance or attachment, and take the next step as it unfolds. It happens consciously and rests in love and compassion. There is fearlessness in allowing, a willingness to stand before Life. There
is also connection to a deeply natural way of being.
In allowing, movement occurs and deepening happens, which harmonizes with the feeling-knowing of when and where you can
be most useful.
Allowing is seeing with compassion, seeing the world with all its conditioning, beliefs, and structures. Allowing is also the awareness that change can and does occur. But at the same time nothing is required to change. As models of allowing, humans accept, nurture, and sustain Life as it changes and transforms them and the world.
"Do life as it is."
"The experience of awareness without doubt."
Feeling-knowing is the experience of actual reality as known by the body and the synergy that we are, an experience without thought, beyond time and space, and in synchrony with all life.
It is not intuition. Rather, it is authentic connection which humans can experience through a higher sense and which can’t be intellectualized or intellectually invoked. When one experiences feeling-knowing, there is no doubt about whether the sense is real or not. One knows. The knowing may be thought of as the moment’s deepest realization of truth.
As one accesses feeling-knowing and comes to experience it more and more, one truly becomes a Knower.
"As one accesses feeling-knowing and comes
to experience it more and more, one truly
becomes a Knower."
The 5 EnLifement Senses
Deepening your connection with all of Life
Dialogues with Ishvara
"You are saying, “the body is the Self” and even, “you are the body.” This can really confuse the mind, since most spiritual teachings understand the Self as something Absolute, something that is not limited in time and space. Furthermore, it is often
said that the identification with the body is the root of separation itself.
Aren’t we more than simply this body?
When you hold a belief about a separate Self, a soul, something that experiences Life by using the body as a temporary vehicle, such belief brings in all kinds of problems, conditions, and superstition. It then becomes very easy to deny this physical experience because you see it as less important; you believe the Self is what is important. You see the Self as separate from the body, which is like imagining that
the ocean is separate or disconnected from a wave. The ocean is all of it.
The Self is all of Life.
I have come to know and experience that there is but one Self, and it is Life, and Life expresses and experiences itself in this multidimensional existence of bodies. It is only the intellect that holds one in a separate individuality.
When I say “the body is the Self” I am saying that the body is undivided Life, non-separate, nondual Is-ness. The Self and the body are non-different. When we recognize the Self as the body, we see the body as an aspect of Life, a uniqueness that is taking place on purpose. Once that unique expression and experience is finished, it dissolves itself into the whole of Life.
Life is a synergy, a wholeness that is greater than the sum of all its parts. Yet each part is significant and important. That is why we say the body is the Self. If you are open and receptive, you can recognize Life through the body, through the experience. But if you have a belief or concept that says the body is not It, or that this existence is a temporary learning process or a state of being that is less than some higher realm, you miss this realization.
Ego attachment wants to have some separate self that is ongoing that will come again, or that will meet people it used to know. All of that is simply a creation of the intellect, an it arises from not knowing the real mystery of life. The mystical aspect of existence is non-divided experience. You can have the experience if you stop hanging on to the concepts and beliefs that keep you separate then you realize that you are Life experiencing this moment, this uniqueness that you are, on purpose, and that whatever you experience is adding to life, is bringing about some other aspect, some other realization to the possibility of life.
"Would you say that there are any requirements to participate in this new way of living? Is enLifement for everybody?"
EnLifement is about Life becoming all it can be, and everybody is participating in that to some degree, at some level. The only requirement is to drop the sense of the other, which means dropping the belief that there is some other time, some other place, some other realm, some other state of being for which you must wait or strive to attain. The belief in the other keeps you in an experience of separation. As long as you believe in the other, there will be something you think you have to achieve, which consequently places a ceiling, a limit on your experience.
The only requirement for participation in enLifement is to drop your beliefs and concepts about how things work and to embrace the mystery of this existence. In this way you begin to realize that enLifement points to the possibilities of this universe that is love, energy, nondivided, nonseparate , ever-evolving, and eternal.
Many teachings have conveyed the idea of enlightenment as a goal to be achieved. They also often say there is a way to achieve it, a practice which can lead you there, and the practice can be handed down to you by someone else.
EnLifement moves beyond the conditional concept of enlightenment. EnLifement is involvement in Life as it is, without resistance or attachment to anything. EnLifement means embracing the no-way-ness of Life, seeing that there is no way.
EnLifement is the process, the becoming, that unfolds through each experience, through each possibility. And there are always more connections, more awarenesses, more possibilities as the human evolves. In enLifement there is nothing to achieve; there is only this Life to be. In enLifement YOU are the way. So enLifement is for everybody.
"You often say, 'There is no other.' Could you please speak about the realization of nonduality?"
I say “There is no other” as a response to the wide-spread belief in a separate soul, a separate existence that is participating in this physical realm and at some point will achieve a connection or union with an other.
When you move beyond that separation, you realize there is no other. There is none other than what you are, and that is Life, the universe, and it is happening. It appears as individual physical expressions, but that appearance is for Life to experience multidimensional existence simultaneously, through all the different physical forms.
When people look to the other, they are denying the experience of Life. They are not satisfied with this experience. They think, “This isn’t it.” This thinking is a gross error on the part of the human mind. If one is truly embracing this Life, there is no end to its possibilities. We have been programmed to see the body as limited, but in actuality it is not. It has been ilimited by conditional beliefs and concepts. My work involves helping you break through those concepts and conditions, so you can see the body in a new light, as the New Human, which is unlimited.
For the New Human, conditions cease to have any control. As the New Human, you begin to co-create with Life. You begin to see that Life is a happening process. As you embrace Love, the unconditional Is-ness, you see a bigger picture; you become a willing part in this synergy of Life. Life is far bigger than any one of the parts, so we see there is a dynamic happening with each moment. It is an unfolding in which we always have the possibility of greater awareness, provided we can cease looking outside and start paying attention to the inside.
To say that there is no other is simply saying that you are It, that It is within you, that you are this Life that is happening. There is no ceiling to Life, no end to what can happen.
"As I understand it, enLifement is not only about the liberation of the individual,
but it also addresses a new level of existence for all of humanity, for the whole planet, for animals, plants, even atoms. Isn’t it important to have the largest possible view
on the subject of liberation, in order not to be caught in the selfish persective of “What’s in it for me?”
EnLifement involves realizing that you are Life experiencing a unique aspect of the universe, an aspect that is on purpose and not separate. When you come from the perspective of “What’s in it for me?” you are looking from a place of separation. EnLifement is about connection, an expansion of awareness. Through that connection you see a bigger picture, you realize the synergy of Life in which the
whole is greater than the sum of the parts. You also realize without the parts, there
is no whole.
EnLifement entails seeing and embracing this part-ness, not in a selfish or separative way, but through allowing what is, looking for ways to connect with the rest of Life. You cannot attain this from a selfish perspective. There is nothing in it for you as an individual. Everything, the whole universe, is in it for us as the one Self, as Life itself, as Love.
Through enLifement we move towards unconditional acceptance of Is-ness, which allows Life to flow. We experience connection and nonduality, but it is not the so-called nonduality which says that this physical existence is not it. Much of so-called nonduality says the body is an illusion. However, that is not the case. The body is an absolute expression of what is, and it continues to express as long as there is something to express at both a unique and a collective level of Life.
If you were always the ocean, you might not fully know what the ocean is. As a wave, you can gain some idea, some perspective of what the ocean is. We are gaining an experience of Life, of the universe, by being the individual expressions of the universe. Often a person loses sight of the big picture, missing the synergy and becoming stuck in the part-ness. That is the cause of conditional thinking and suffering. Those things take place when you lose the sense of the big picture, Life itself.
We are always working towards remembering who we really are at this level, but not trying to do so by forgetting our actual experience. Remembering who we are comes through embracing what we are, and that embrace expands the experience into an extended awareness and a connection that means far more than one can see through the intellect.
"Many people do therapies, body work and other such things to gain more self-awareness and to improve their lives. Would you say these approaches help to prepare one for the next step that you are addressing? Are these things still helpful when one grasps your message?
Life is about awareness, and whatever one does to gain awareness is beneficial. Therapies can be useful to get in touch with the body, with the energy, the Life-force that one is. Any kind of practice that brings a greater awareness to the body facilitates the deepening and expanding awareness of the True Self, Life.
However, the downside is that one usually approaches these therapies with the idea that there is something wrong. Instead of simply seeking a better balance with Life, one seeks to be fixed. Therefore, much of the answer to this question depends on how one looks at the therapy and why one is doing it.
One can become so caught up into the therapy that it becomes a way of life, and then it is counter-productive. Yet when used in the right way, therapies can be important for helping to re- establish a balance in the body that has been lost due to the stress and chaos of existence. So body therapies can be beneficial for one’s centering, for finding a resonance or harmony with the body.
You can continue to use a therapy that is beneficial, as long as you are doing it to
help find a greater balance, and not to try to fix something. If you are trying to fix something, you are saying there is something wrong. In the New Consciousness, as the New Human, we do not look for what is wrong, but for what is right with Life,
what works, what is most balancing, what is most harmonizing. If you grasp the message I bring, you realize there is nothing wrong, Instead, you see that things can be more harmonious. You see that there is always another step, and that there is no ceiling, no stopping place to this Life. If you approach a therapy from that awareness, the therapy may help bring about more harmony. If you see the therapy as a solution,
as something that will fix you, your experience will be limited.
"Spiritual books that teach how to use the mind to make our wishes and wants become reality are very popular these days. You too talk about co-creating our human life in connection with the universe. Could you please speak about this?"
The concept of using your thoughts to create reality is misleading because it usually centers around gaining wealth or gaining power over another, or something similar.
I take exception to books that teach this idea. I feel they distort the truth.
When I speak of co-creating, I am talking about a person being in balance with the True Self, with Life, with Love, and in that process one becomes aware of a possibility. Using that awareness, one can establish a connection with the possibility and allow that it could become reality. This process does not involve control or manipulation. Some authors say that you can “get what you want.” However, for the New Human there is no wanting. For the New Human there is the opportunity always to accept what is, but to allow that there is more. The New Human flows with Life, seeing that
Life is an unfolding happening with which we co-create. We can sense possibilities in this unfolding, and move in a way that facilitates their creation. But we do not do so in a way that involves forcing or wanting. If we can allow for a possibility, we are well on the way to experiencing it. But the key is allowing. It does not involve manipulation, control, demanding, or getting what you want.
When I speak of co-creating, I am also speaking of creating from a sense of feeling-knowing, having the direct feeling that something is possible, that something can be more harmonious, more balanced, more flowing. Such creation is always in the arena of working with Life, not forcing or controlling it. It always involves the sense of allowing possibilities to come into place. Through allowing, these possibilities can become reality in a harmonious way as part of the flow of Life. Inevitably, Life is more powerful than control.
"How do you see your personal role in the coming of a liberated humanity.
In the coming of the new human?"
I see my role as being an embodiment of what is possible for the human being. My life has been a laboratory of higher possibilities that have been tested and are now being presented to those around me. This creates an altered space, or a Buddha Space as some call it. The energy around me is accelerated. When people get close to me they feel this acceleration.
I see my function as being the example of what is possible in human existence without separating from the human. Usually such occurrences have been interpreted as something spiritual, something separate from what we are. I am here to prove that it is not separate. I am a spiritual being. I am full Consciousness, yet I am very human.
I feel the one thing that has been missing for humanity is being real. We’ve looked on spirituality as coming not from here but from some place else.
We’ve had to be supernormal, or sinless, or nonphysical in order to be spiritual. All of these ideas keep us from knowing that we are the emerging New Consciousness, the New Human.
I know that you, all of you, are IT, the emerging New Consciousness. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind about this. Humanity is IT. My body knows this. My body does this little dance that says, “Here it is. This is IT. This is who you are.” Your body experiences this and then knows that it doesn’t have to remain stuck where it is. This is not transmission. Instead, this body is revealing what that body is, what is already there. This body is inspiring that body to be more.
I am here to share. I am here as a physical example of what is possible for the human being to achieve in the New Consciousness without becoming separate, without dying, but by living fully. I am here to help each one of you attain right view, because how you think enslaves you. What you think keeps you separate, so this teaching is about how to look at Life without separating yourself from it, how to look at Life in a way that empowers you as a unique expression of the universe.
"Aren’t the signs of this awakening also to be found in what other realized teachers say? Many speak about the coming of a new level of existence; many speak about staying with what IS or about the power of being present."
I observe that when writers or teachers claim something as their experience, it is usually based on the outside, on “they say,” on lineage or system. Thus it is based in a belief, concept, or condition that one has adopted. This may be beneficial up to a certain point, but to claim it as an awakening is misleading because it involves the outside. What I present to the New Human is unconditional, and comes from within. One cannot access this from the outside. I am this awareness, this New Consciousness, so my teaching is from the inside. My awareness, my direct experience of Life, comes from within, not from without. It is not something I can read about or gain knowledge of. I can only speak of it from direct experience. If a teacher has had a direct experience that comes from within, not brought on by a system, structure, or belief, it can be helpful. But many teachers don’t
actually trust their own experience, and so they look for validation from the outside. I am sure that many people have had an awakening experience at some level, but the experience becomes distorted when they package it into a system, structure, or lineage. My awakening has taken place within the body. I see this as a major difference from many teachings.
This direct experience of the New Consciousness cannot be intellectualized. It can be felt. I am a feeler. I feel, and I project feeling to people. That is how the teaching takes place: the body feels this. Often the intellect will try to package it as something else, but when you stay with the feeling of this experience, something is happening at a physical level, a cellular level.
"Is it important to know you in person, to be in contact with you on a personal level?"
It is possible that one could grasp this awareness through other means, but the most reliable way is through direct contact with me. Direct contact can be passed on to others. When one has truly encountered me, then one becomes able to effect that same kind of connection with other people. So this teaching is not limited to me personally, but it does arise from personal contact with this awareness.
"Ishvara What is your deepest wish?"
I see that beliefs, concepts and conditioning keep humanity caught in the chaos and suffering we are now experiencing. My wish is that all conditions, beliefs and concepts would fall away, leaving pure Self-existence.
Without the beliefs, concepts and conditioning, Life would be the mystical experience in which one lives as the universe and knows what others know, with no sense of better or worse, no loss, no gain, no selfishness. Instead, one would always be seeing the highest good in any situation. There would be no agenda or control. There would be no need for control, because we would know exactly what is happening.
Without conditions, beliefs or concepts that block the connection with the universe, there is a natural flow, a flowing of Is-ness, of Love, of existence, of energy, and it goes to its most natural place every moment. That flow is hampered, cut off, or diminished by conditions, beliefs and concepts. That is why I am so adamant about dropping these things. My deepest wish is that the New Human would assume its place in Life.
I see this as the only salvation for humanity: to be the New Human who embraces the New Consciousness. My wish is that conditions, beliefs, and concepts will fall away so that this can take place.
Everyday Wisdom of Ishvara
Making Every Experience Pay.
Life is an experience of energy. In Life you are learning how energy works at various levels. When you are able to embrace this experience, you receive something from it. Much of life in the conditional way is spent in resistance or attachment to the way things are. Yet making every experience pay requires you to let go of resistance and expectations and to really be with what is. In this way you are allowing Life to flow in the pattern, the energy field that it is, and you are learning what that means. You are learning how Life works at that level of energy, at that level of experience.
To make every experience pay is to embrace what is in each moment, seeing it as it unfolds, noticing the patterns, understanding how you have set things into the patterns, understanding how you have set things into motion, how your beliefs, concepts or conditioning shape the pattern and affect the outcome. You are learning from each experience. You are seeing connections, you are having awarenesses, and you are gaining insight into how energy works. Since energy works differently at different levels of Life, it is a constant, ongoing experience.
To make every experience pay is simply to say that you are embracing Life as it is, with the sense of allowing that there is more. There is more to take place, more to discover. You find
that Life can be fulfilled in each moment, but there is no end to that. There is always more.
Using Directive Discipline.
We are familiar with the term discipline, which often involves correcting, controlling, or blocking certain behavior or thoughts. Discipline is usually based in a belief that things should be a certain way.
Directive discipline is quite different. Directive discipline does not involve controlling, pushing, or shoving. Instead, it entails gently nudging things in a direction where you have an awareness or sense that your life could become more balanced or harmonious.
One sensitively directs the intellect in a way that enhances Life, instead of diminishing it, holding thoughts or concepts that are uplifting, that are directive in a way that allows you to see a greater purpose unfolding, bringing about a greater awareness and lessening the sense
Directive discipline encompasses the way you look at Life, at the things around you, at people. You can look at another person as someone to be feared. You can see Life as a threat, as something to be dreaded, or you can look at Life as an experience of energy, of continuously unfolding possibilities. The way you look at Life is the way you will experience it.
Directive discipline is a tool for embracing the energy of Life in a way that enables you to gain a benefit, a deeper understanding of the energy. Directive discipline is not forcing or controlling; it is allowing. Instead of thinking, “I must do this,” or “Don’t do that,” directive discipline can involve gently suggesting to yourself, “Why not do this?” It is an allowing but active awareness in which you are seeing a way to be and implementing that, step by step. But without force, without trying to control it, but rather with a suggestion: why not allow this to take place? Why not embrace this? Why not to see where it goes? Why not to understand this? Why not be with it as it is and see what happens?
Having No Stopping Place.
If you look at spiritual systems, methods, beliefs and concepts, you will see that there is usually an agenda, some goal to achieve. Once that goal is reached the system has little more to offer. People arrive at a place where they have mastered a technique or a process, where they have endured the system, and then wonder, “Now what?” They have achieved the goal, but the system offers little or nothing beyond that.
Having no stopping place means you recognize that the expanding experiences of Life are always moving, always connecting, always bringing something new into the arena of experience. Thus there is no place to park, no place to stay. You are always moving, always becoming. In this you are allowing Life to flow, and there is no ceiling or limit to it. You can go as far as you want to go.
Most people don’t know what to want. Many accept what the system says. Yet for a system to say, “This is it, this is the goal, this is the end, there is nothing else,” is a form of death.
When your life is non-structured, open-ended, with no goal or end in sight, then the only thing to achieve is that which takes place in the moment, and that in turn becomes a step that leads to the next moment. You don’t stop. You keep evolving, you keep becoming, you keep knowing, you keep experiencing, you keep embracing Life as it flows in its unending more-ness.
Doing What Is In Front Of You .
In living Life you can have an agenda, you can set goals, and you can try to organize what will happen. Yet ultimately, the practice of taking the step that is before you, doing what is in front of you, allows Life to move in a liberating direction.
If you have rigid goals or agendas, or if you have fixed expectations about Life, that liberating direction is blocked. However, looking freely at Life and its possibilities, seeing what can happen now, seeing how things might unfold and how Life can flow, always presents something that is in front of you. Life is right here, right where you are. Doing what is in front of you means recognizing that, through connection and awareness, the step in front of you is the step to take. This also involves realizing that that step will lead to another step. You are not yet on the other step; you are on this step, but this step will lead to a next step.
Doing what is in front of you means taking the step that is present, doing what is here, and doing it with an openness and a sense of movement, realizing that the experience of what-is-now is Life happening. You allow that, it unfolds, you participate, and you experience.
"Do what is in front of you and new possibilities will appear."
